Memphis Business Journal: ‘As long as I’m alive:’ Carty & Co. CEO on staying locally owned, expanding into Little Rock

Carty & Co. was recently featured in the Memphis Business Journal to discuss our history as a Memphis-based and locally owned firm.

When Bill Carty opened Carty & Co. in 1970, he joined more than 50 locally owned broker-dealers based in Memphis. However, Carty & Co is now one of a few full-service broker-dealers based in Memphis who are still locally owned. Although may say Carty & Co. could benefit from being purchased by a larger firm, Bill Carty insists that staying local is the best decision for his clients, and he plans to stay local for at least as long as he is in charge.
